Akademische Laufbahn

Prof. Dr. Christian Schwens ist Inhaber der Professur für Entrepreneurship und Management an der Universität zu Köln und Wissenschaftlicher Leiter des Gateway Exzellenz Start-up Centers (https://gateway-unikoeln.de/) der Universität zu Köln. Von 2012 - 2018 war er Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Betriebswirtschaftslehre, insbes. Management an der Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf. Forschungsaufenthalte führten ihn an die Lazaridis School of Business and Economics in Waterloo, Canada, an das Department of Management and International Business der University of Auckland, Neuseeland, und an die Carlson School of Management der University of Minnesota, USA.

Seine Forschungsarbeiten wurden auf zahlreichen nationalen und internationalen Kongressen präsentiert und in begutachteten internationalen Zeitschriften wie Strategic Management Journal (SMJ), Journal of International Business Studies (JIBS), Journal of Management Studies (JMS), Journal of Business Venturing (JBV), Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice (ETP), Journal of World Business (JWB) u.v.a.m. publiziert. Er ist Field Editor für den Bereich „International & Entrepreneurship“ beim Journal of Business Venturing und war von 2014 - 2023 Senior Editor beim Journal of World Business (mit Zuständigkeit für den Bereich "Entrepreneurship, Technology and Internationalization").
