Accelerate your Career - Strategy, Entrepreneurship and Leadership
Winter Term
LV-Nr.: 14253.8000
Planning a career in a (multinational) company or consultancy firm? Thinking about starting your own business, or preparing for a future leadership position? This course – specifically designed to address the requirements of MINT students – complements your main study program with the strategic, entrepreneurial and leadership know-how you will need wherever your career path may take you – and lets you gain first-hand insights from business leaders along the way.
Because sooner or later, most of us face tasks our subject studies barely prepare us for: leading a team, steering a project, making strategic decisions, or building something of our own. This course closes that gap between expert knowledge and management skills – with examples from science- and technology-driven careers. Guest lectures from experienced practitioners provide additional real-world insights.
Goal of the Course
The overall purpose of the course is to provide students with fundamental management skills and tools and to convey entrepreneurial thinking, preparing them for diverse tasks as future leaders.
Learning Content
- Strategy: strategically positioning a company and identifying long run success factors.
- Project management: organizing and steering large- and small-scale projects.
- Leadership: becoming a leader and successfully leading teams.
- Entrepreneurial thinking: what defines an entrepreneur and how to set up your business.
