Curriculum Vitae

Dr. Matthias Schulz has been postdoctoral researcher at the Professorship in Entrepreneurship and Management at the University of Cologne since April 2018. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and Economics at Bielefeld University and then studied Economics and Controlling (M.Sc.) at the University of Cologne. From April 2014 to September 2017, he pursued his doctoral studies at the Jackstädt Center of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research on hybrid entrepreneurship. Then, he worked at the Department of Management at the Heinrich-Heine-University (HHU) in Duesseldorf, Germany as a post doc until March 2018.

Matthias’ research focusses on the role of uncertainty in entrepreneurship and firm innovation through R&D alliances. Further research interests include international entrepreneurship and entrepreneurship policy. His dissertation has been short-listed for the Deutsche Studienpreis by the Körber Foundation and the NFIB Award of the entrepreneurship division of the Academy of Management. Matthias’ research has been presented at various national and international conferences and published among others in Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, and Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice. Matthias Schulz has also reviews regularly for journals such as Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, Journal of Business Venturing and the Journal of World Business.
